Corkage fee? (Wedding)?
What types of restraunts will NOT charge you for opening your own bottle of wine?
I want to cut costs by brining in our own wine (my fiance and i are cheap-wine enthusiasts)…most places will charge you something from $2.50 – $20 just for opening the bottle (and using their glasses, and service, i know, FH’s mom doesnt understand, which is frustrating…whole nother story there).
what types of venues won’t charge? (i.e. Chinese restaurants, specific caterers)
THANKS.
about the steak comment:
a lot of chinese restraunts let you bring in your own lobster and they’ll cook it for you for a small fee….i’ve never seen it with steak, we’ve only done it with lobster……..so, yes, it can be done! =)
It really depends on the individual restaurant or caterer. I’ve been to restaurants that didn’t charge, but a few months later, they did. Our caterer didn’t charge a corkage fee (didn’t charge a cake cutting fee either) so you need to ask around.
